Integral spirituality encompasses the whole of one's life--not just the "religious" overlay of belief and special practice. Valerie will describe integral spiritual practice at Via Lactea, where regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and recovery of ancestral spirituality inform the whole of our lives, and discuss how neo-Pagan traditions may be uniquely poised to offer pathways to spirituality that is authentic, relevant, and appropriate.
About Valerie Hahn
Valerie Hahn is a neo-Pagan Priestess and the founder of Via Lactea Sanctuary, a faith-based 508(c)(1)(a) agricultural community and retreat space. While exploring traditional Mediterranean and Central Asian agricultural and spiritual practice, Via Lactea offers an aspirational model of integral spirituality, where place-based subsistence, simple living, regenerative agriculture, reverence for all beings and recovery of ancestral traditions inform a spiritual practice that is appropriate, authentic and relevant. Valerie is also a member of the Fierce Vulnerability Network (a national network of activists working at the intersection of climate justice and racial healing), a student at Cherry Hill seminary, and a veteran of multiple arrests at direct actions in defense of Life.
The Earth-based Spirituality Action Team is for anyone who keeps the sacred Earth at the center of their practice. We see action on climate change as an urgent moral imperative. We aim to reach out into our global communities and recruit volunteers for Citizens' Climate Lobby. We recognize and honor the spiritual nature of climate work.
